From the opera houses and concert stages of the world, Grammy Award winner Isabel Leonard comes to Music in the Afternoon. Currently singing the title role of Rossini’s sparkling comedy La Cenerentola for the Lyric Opera of Chicago, she brings to her Toronto concert a program of songs by Montsalvatge, de Falla, Ives, Higdon, and more.
Torontonians remember Isabel Leonard’s superb performance as Sesto in the COCʼs La Clemenza di Tito in 2013. It led The Globe and Mailʼs Robert Harris to write:
“Leonard has a pure, expressive voice, but is also a fine actress, both vocally and on stage, and her Sesto transfigured the dynamics of the production every time she assumed centre stage.”
